Google ain’t daft and I’m sure they’d take exception to being called a punk, but this week has seen Google take over the blog in a big way with faster features and better apps. Google being the technological equivalent of a jack-of-all-trades have been firing out features left right and centre and from all quarters. You want new analytics solutions? They’re yours. New mobile phone apps? No problem. Monkey butler? Dream on.
First to be served up by Google is a variety of Analytics treats. Wouldn’t it be handy for instance if you could break down your AdWords reporting using Analytics? Well now you can by combining your accounts together to get the best of both worlds. Also, if you want to make further use of your Analytics why not look into some of the 38 new solutions that have been pumped out courtesy of analytics users. In possibly the most cunning business strategy of all time, Google released the developer API for Analytics a year ago and are now basking in adulation for the 38 new Analytics apps created by users. That’s pretty clever for a bunch of skivers.
Next up, Google want to take the internet, strap on some roller skates, a jetpack and launch it from an ACME style elastic catapult. Basically, faster, faster, faster! Google certainly feel the need for speed and want to get you on board. Google developer programs tech lead Maile Ohye (which I can only hope is pronounced Oh-Yeah!) provides some information on how you can get your website up to speed with small changes and no extra cost. She’s so smiley you’ll want to do everything she says and maybe even tickle her nose. Just me? Google are certainly setting the benchmark for fast browsing as they demonstrate Chrome’s speed with the aid of a potato. Nuff said.
That’s not all from the Google behemoth either. You might have by now stumbled across the Google homepage since its redesign which like a high class call girl has been dolled up to look appealing and offers some new services. The new design is also available on mobiles, and for mobile enthusiasts Android has released a new app which is perfect for budding astronomers and lost sailors. In addition Google have finally set an estimated release date for their Digital book launch. That’s if they don’t get sued first.

Google certainly get around. Finger in every pie kind of idea. Facebooks been on the ascendancy though. Just a shame for Google that they can’t get social networking right.
