Finding the Negatives in Google AdWords New Keyword Tool

Google recently provided AdWords clients with a new keyword tool with new features such as a greater depth of filtering. However, it seems to be missing one crucial element; the ability to search for negative keywords.

Negative keywords make up a vital aspect of keyword optimisation as they allow the client to determine which specific searches their ads will not show up for. This will enable them to minimize the chance of their ad coming up for something irrelevant. In turn this can help reduce cost-per-click and increase ROI.

In light of this, Cozy Digital decided to take it upon themselves to pull up AdWords about this issue. In the resulting email, an AdWords representative suggested that all requests and issues with the application should be addressed via their feedback form. Unfortunately the link they provided doesn’t seem to work, although other assistance is available at the AdWords support page. Furthermore, they suggested just using the old version in the mean time.

Evolution will continue to press this issue and suggests that others do the same in order to really get the point across. Furthermore, if you have found any other aspects of the new tool that you have taken exception with, or in fact any other issue with Google applications – feel free to post here. Power to the people!
