A couple of weeks back in the office and everyone seems to be getting back into the swing of things. The sub-arctic conditions seem to be clearing up and there’s a slight chance that things might soon be getting back to normality. The net was bombarded this week with a plethora of posts, articles and blogs on Google’s dispute in China. I wouldn’t be surprised by rumours that the Google overlords were mobilising their Chrome army robots.
Furthermore our bread and butter, Google, got up to their usual antics of attempting to take over everything. Coming next year, get your Google bed spread and range of lotions! The search engine giants launched a new AdWords Optimisation Centre to provide further assistance with users ad campaigns. They also released their new upload system for client document storage that gives an idea of how GDrive could function. They certainly didn’t call it a day there either. Google have also submitted a patent that suggests they are planning on running advertising in Google maps street view, and with security in mind they are auto encrypting all Gmail users’ accounts.
Of course, it’s not all good news from Google as along with PayPal they look set to drop Maestro support. Also, in returning to our previous post on dating a She-Google we found the public split and in a few cases perhaps a little disturbed. Bing have made some effort toward promoting their search engine by adding useful new medical and automobile search features. Despite this, the release of last month’s search ranking showed a rise yet again for Google. They also got another bonus by being voted Word of the Decade. Still, the guys at Google seem to still have a recurring sense of humour.
In other news, Firefox are set to release a new build of their browser this month offering new and enhanced features. We also released a new poll on our blog asking whether viewers knew the effects of duplicate content on their websites. Last month’s poll revealed that over 56% of you think that Google is like big brother from the dystopian world of the novel ‘1984’. You’re a paranoid lot aren’t you?
…..Praise Google!
