Access Changes in Your Google AdWords Account

In the next few weeks AdWords are looking to make changes to access levels that will have an effect on how you administer your account. Reports-only access is set to be replaced with a new read-only access level. As a result, all reports-only access users will automatically be migrated to read-only access.

This will mean that how these users access your account will be slightly altered. Before, reports-only users could only access the reports tab and where restricted to the information that this provided. The new read-only account settings will allow these users more freedom to view the performance statistics throughout the account. This will also include the Campaigns tab.

Of course there will still be limitations to the read-only accounts as such users will still be limited to browsing and viewing reports within the account. These changes will occur automatically within AdWords Accounts within the next few weeks. However, if you still want to restrict read-only users from accessing your campaigns tab then you can easily update your account preferences.

  1. Sign into your AdWords account as Administrator and select the ‘My Account ‘ tab.
  2. Click ‘Access’.
  3. Select the ‘Change Access Level’ link next to the user you wish to change.
  4. Choose the radio button which reflects the access level you wish to grant the user.
  5. Click ‘Save Changes’ to finish. The user will then be sent a notification email alerting them of the changes.
