Is the iPhone 4G starting to get close? It certainly feels like we’ve been kept in purgatory over its impending release, but all of a sudden it’s snuck up on us out of nowhere. For a long time there’s been some major questions following the 4G iPhone and it looks like these are to be answered, finally.
It seems almost a certainty now that we will get a first look at the new iPhone this month. The Wall Street Journal announced roughly a month ago that the next generation of iPhone would be revealed on the 22nd of June. This speculation has been further compounded, as it was announced that Apple had booked the Yerba Buena Centre for Arts on this date.
However, just to keep us all guessing Apple recently announced that the Worldwide Developers Conference was to be held from June 7th to 11th this year. Given their penchant for revealing their new iPhones during these events, there seems no reason why they should change now.
With some speculation that the new version could be named ‘iPhone HD’, it’s definitely going to have some pretty up to the minute features. Not least is the almost certain addition of multitasking, as well as the full spectrum of HD features. With 4G network capabilities, it seems more likely that it’ll be the network providers who are playing catch up as they try to make ready their channel access speeds to provide the internet, data transfer and connection speeds that the iPhone deserves.
It doesn’t look like we’ll be waiting too much longer in any case as the 4G bomb looks certain to drop this month. There’s plenty of buzz surrounding the release, but what are you hoping comes out of the new release? Better drag and drop app folder options would be nice, and a tariff under £40 would be a surprise bonus.
